The Manorial Documents Register (MDR) identifies the nature and location of manorial records. The MDR is partially computerised – all of Wales and the following English counties - Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cumberland, Derbyshire, Dorset, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Isle of Wight, Lancashire, Middlesex, Norfolk, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, Somerset, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex, Warwickshire, Westmorland, and the three Ridings of Yorkshire are available online. See Search the MDR. However the remaining counties have not yet been computerised and information is still only available by visiting our searchroom or writing in with an enquiry.
