Letter from Richard Rawthmel, curate both of Whitewell Chapel and Grindleton Chapel, to Rev. Mr. Hayter, Downing St. Westminster, answering questions about the chapel, probably for the information of Queen Anne's Bounty
(Note. Rawthmel was a noted Lancashire antiquary, and parts of this letter are quoted in Whitaker's "Whalley" (Volume.2 p.506); Whitaker's "Craven" (p.34) and Frederick George Ackerley "History of Mitton" (p.34).
